Cheers to you hon! I LOVE fireworks and the first image is glorious.

I don't really need to see naked spike but what the heck, I peeked anyway and it's very well done. Kudos. and happy new year to a new friend in fandom! I look forward to more conversations and to what treats you'll bring us this year.

Thank you! Naked Spike is a bit too fuzzy around the edges, but otherwise I'm quite pleased with the image, in particular the fireworks part. (And the fireworks do light up Spike's abs quite nicely. I understand they don't do it for you, but that's OK -- I'm happy to ogle them all by myself :-)

ETA: by "they" I meant the abs, not the fireworks!

I do think the golden color of his body goes very nicely with the fireworks. How did you get that golden quality?

ETA: I just saw your comment on your profile page that you wouldn't call yourself a vidder, but you 'slowly" make btvs & ate vids. Well, if you make vids, if you've made more than one vid in the past and/or hope to do so in future - I'd definitely call you a vidder. :D

Ha, I did exactly nothing! The only changes I made to the screencap are a few highlights I added in his face, which was a bit too shaded. Otherwise, it's all the original lighting from that scene in Gone, which is truly superb and just happened to fit perfectly with the tint of my fireworks photo. (Gone is not one of my favourite episodes, but worth it for this shot alone :-)

And yeah, I have made several vids, so technically I am a vidder... I guess it's similar to the 'artist' discussion we had earlier -- I just don't feel like I can put myself on a par with the people I consider real artists or vidders.

Oh my gosh I have fought with that for YEARS - first I couldn't call myself "a writer", then "an artist". I think claiming the titles require the same chutzpah it requires to dare to write or create in the first place, maybe more. We can keep the creations hidden, we can refuse to identify ourselves to ourselves and others.

When does it become real? When we claim it? when we bring our work out of hiding and say aloud "I am..." I think in our culture, the definition has more to do with "when we get paid for it". Or "when we reach a certain level of expertise" - a goalpost that is constantly shifting. neither of which are true definitions

I think in the end it all comes down to self-esteem and lack thereof.

Yeah, you are probably right about that. At least I'm already past the "keeping the creations hidden" stage, so "identifying" will be the next step!
