I heard this afternoon that Dutch singer/songwriter Jan Rot (1957-2022) died today. I'm a long time fan of his so I can't let his death go unnoticed, even though I'm sure no one has heard of him outside The Netherlands. For the longest time he wasn't that well-known in The Netherlands either, but he did have a few very modest hits in the eighties, including "Bobby, Roger and Eileen". None of them ever made Top 40 though. Since 2000 Jan Rot became more nationally famous for his many translations of songs, pop as well as classic ones.

I've always loved him for his own songs though; I own several of his albums. I also saw him in concert a few times. And yes, his name really is Johnny Rotten, literally translated. According to Jan Rot's own story, Johnny Rotten actually got his name from him :-)

Anyway, let me just repost this old vid of mine in his memory.

For this Fall's round of [community profile] seasonal_spuffy the theme was "Walk Through the Fire". It reminded me of "Fire" by The Pointer Sisters. To me, the lyrics of "Fire" just scream Spuffy, and I thought it was nice to do a vid from Buffy's pov for a change. Also, it's just a great song! Note: the vid is possibly not entirely worksafe due to some Spike nudity and sexy scenes, but mostly just kissing (lots of it).

I also submitted a banner for the banner poll, which you can see under the cut below. (In full size the width is 900px.)

This vid was my main entry for the Spring 2021 round of [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy (theme: truth or dare). It is packed with sex scenes from Season 6, and gets pretty steamy. So, rated R and possibly not worksafe.

It's here! My [community profile] fandomtrumpshate 2020 gift for sea-changed, who made a generous donation to some charities that are doing really important work. I can't express how happy I was when sea-changed told me they wanted a Spike vid to this particular song, because I love both Spike and the song a lot. The vid took me a long time to make (for a large part because I was distracted by work and other projects), but sea-changed was there every step of the way with valuable feedback that made the vid a lot better than it would have otherwise been. In short, multiple big thank yous to sea-changed! I hope you will keep enjoying the vid, even though you've already seen innumerable intermediate versions of it ;-)

Anyway, here it is, the very final version:

And a note to everybody who reads this: I have again signed up for Fandom Trumps Hate, and you can find my 2021 offers here (again a vid, and artwork). Bidding starts Monday! I challenge you to come up with a new vid request for me that is as much fun to make as this one has been.

Finally, there are some other good folks who are also offering Buffyverse art and fic; you can find all Buffyverse offerings here.

I'm working on another vid at the moment, but I took a break from that and managed to squeeze out a short vid for this year's Spring round of [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy. This is Spike's very own "pity ditty", set to a song by The Smiths. It's a lovely song, but I must admit one of the main reasons I picked it, is that it's under two minutes :-)

WARNING: contains some clips from Seeing Red.

Next, I made two works in the Biffyverse, inspired by Tribel from BuffyForums and first glimpsed in my entry for this year's [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles.

The video doubled as my fill for the [livejournal.com profile] buffyversebingo prompt "Flavor". The artwork was made exclusively for [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy, prompted by the love letters theme.

New vid! Featuring Angel like my previous one, but this time it's a serious vid. I made it to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Angel, and also to fill one of the squares ('fight') of my [livejournal.com profile] buffyversebingo card. It's a Not Fade Away episodic vid set to "Fools Rush Out" by the Stranglers. Yes, I know, another Stranglers song... But it just fits Not Fade Away so well.

For those of you who celebrate the 4th of July, have a little something I made years ago for BuffyTube. Most of it is from JibJab, but the rabbit is mine :-)

This is a short Spangel crackvid I made for the 'Mix & Match' challenge at [livejournal.com profile] nekid_spike. Spike could be paired (or threesomed) with  Angel, Buffy, Willow and/or Xander. I opted for Angel. Just some silly fun!

With this last post I'm fully caught up! (Now on to making some new stuff for [livejournal.com profile] noel_of_spike)

I contributed this vid to the Fall round of [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy. It has nothing to do with the theme of the round; basically I just wanted to do a quick & dirty (pun intended :-) vid project to play around with the gorgeous HD version of Buffy, kindly supplied by hdbuffy.tumblr.com. It's a vid about Buffy and Spike's relationship dynamics in Season 6.

Note: in case you're wondering about that last line, it's "Do you remember what happened to Lot's wife?" (A biblical reference -- she was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.)
