Banner for A Matter of Time by Shapinglight

After disappearing off the radar since January, I'm briefly resurfacing to post one of the few things I managed to get done since then.

The following banner was inspired by shapinglight's wonderful short fic A Matter of Time, from the last round of seasonal_spuffy. Those of you who have read the story can probably imagine why I felt the urge to illustrate it. If you haven't read it, I suggest that you hurry up and remedy that situation right away!

Beard! Luscious, curly beard! This feels very true to how I remember the story, because: (1) I want to run my fingers through it, (2) it's actually not all fun and games - Spike looks serious and like he's Been Through stuff (I think s7 Spike was a great choice and not only because of the hair), (3) pretty! :)

I picked the S7 image for the hair, but I agree this soulful, thoughtful Spike does match the story.

And though I still prefer him beardless, bearded!Spike is not a bad sight if I say so myself.

Oh my! That is really gorgeous!! The color palette is beautiful, and I absolutely love the text. But most of all, if done a great job of representing Spike as he was in that story. The beard is perfect.

Thank you! I did go through a lot of beards before I managed to find one with that curly, Greek statuesque look.
