R.I.P. Dave Greenfield
May. 11th, 2020 01:17 amTonight I heard on the radio that Dave Greenfield from The Stranglers died of COVID-19 last week... That news hit me hard, I'm still a tiny bit in shock! Such a sad loss.
Those of you who have watched my vids have probably noticed that quite a lot of them are set to songs by The Stranglers. That's because I'm a big Stranglers fan. And Dave Greenfield's distinctive gurgling organ sound is a very important part (maybe the most important) of why I love the Stranglers so much. To quote from Hugh Cornwell's comment on Dave's death, "He was the difference between The Stranglers and every other punk band."
R.I.P. Dave Greenfield, a brilliant artist and a kind man.
